We're excited to announce the opening of Galbraith's newest trail, Natural Delight, handbuilt by WMBC Trail Crew Leader Ryan Joslyn during Summer 2025. Natural Delight provides a new option for folks who've ventured down Devilcross.
After riding the first segment of Devilcross, you pop onto the Access Road to Devilcross. Continue down the road (as if you're going to ride the rest of Devilcross) and you'll see the entrance to a trail to your left. This is the beginning of Natural Delight! It starts with some fun pumps and natural singletrack along the sidehill, before diving into a 180 degree lefthand corner, a few more berms and then crossing a beautifully constructed bridge to get riders over a small depression. You crest onto the ridge and drop into a banked slalom of supportive berms connected by natural singletrack, a true balance of flow and tech. After the last chute into a lefthand corner (the most intimidating section of the trail), the trail exits onto Road 2700, leaving riders with a smile ear-to-ear and wishing there was more! For now, riders have the option to continue down the remainder of Devilcross or cruise along Road 2700 to lower Happy Hour, The Finger, Lost Sole, or a plethora of other northside trails.

This trail has been in the works for several years! The initial idea for building in this zone and potential routing were part of discussions back in 2023. The line was flagged this past winter and Ryan started clearing corridor in the spring. Due to other projects and restricted dirt moving windows in the Lake Whatcom Watershed, we had to wait to break ground on this trail until late June 2025. Ryan did the majority of work to bring his vision to life solo, with some support from Ben & Gerry when they weren't on other projects. The dirt work for the trail was completed by the end of September, but there were still a few wood bridges Ryan needed to finish to tie it all together. Go check it out and let us know what you think!
Routing is in the works for the lower portion of Natural Delight which will continue on from where the upper section ends on Road 2700 and connect all the way down to Devilcross. We hope to complete the lower portion in Summer 2026 and have it rideable for everyone around this time next year!

Ryan's creative eye on display. You are hardly ever just riding straight on this trail! There's always something going on to keep you engaged and locked in.

The name for Natural Delight is a nod to the natural feel of the trail and is a play off the beer Natural Light. The beverage theme keeps with other trails in this area: Keystone, Happy Hour, High Life, Bottle Opener, Oly, and Vitamin R.

The last chute on the trail: a balance of rooty naturalness, rocky delightfullness, and slight puckeriness.

Ryan shows his building expertise extends beyond dirt work as this bridge comes to life during a rainy day in September. Fun fact: We build bridges out of wood we harvest from downed cedar trees on Galbraith. This includes sill logs, stringers, and decking. The cedar is debarked to help increase it's longevity and we use Timberloks to ensure the structure is securely bound together.
