LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN
FOREST PRESERVE

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN FOREST PRESERVE TRAIL MAP

THE TRAILS

A beautiful multi-use area for riders, trail runners, and hikers. Hike or bike on existing trails through second-growth forest, gorges, past two waterfalls, and up to a scenic overlook for a view of Lake Whatcom and Bellingham.

COUGAR RIDGE

1.5 mile long blue descending bike trail with optional multiple black diamond routes and wood features, rock slabs, and roots to navigate.

BANEBERRY TRAIL
Mile long, steep shortcut trail
makes a large loop out of the Rufus Creek Trail. Bikes travel uphill only on this trail. A number of views along the way make for a nice pause as you ride.

RUFUS CREEK TRAIL
This 3.6 mile loop trail begins shortly after the road crossing. It starts as wider double track and turns into single track as the trail dips into one of the most gorgeous forests around. It is important to note that the lower third of the trail often has descending traffic so keep your head up. The upper section leads you up through a hardwood forest to a viewpoint where you will find views of Lake Whatcom and Mount Baker.
