HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Step
01
Fill out the WMBC Ride Leader Registration & Volunteer Waiver form below, letting us know you are interested in becoming a ride leader or assistant ride leader. We will send you the link to the class.

Become a WMBC individual or family member (if you aren’t already)

Background Check through Bellingham Public Schools. (apparently this is an annual check). So unless you are a teacher or recently approved volunteer within BPS, please find the online waiver on the BPS website and submit it ASAP to make sure you are cleared prior to spring rides.

Inform Char that you have completed the course with your mailing address so you can get reimbursed the $200 for the Ride Leader Course

At least one adult in each ride group needs to have their current basic 1st aid certificate (at a minimum). Red Cross offers many courses for this, or you can also find some mountain bike specific classes.

Each student that signs up must become a WMBC family member ($60). This fee covers insurance, one trail day during your ride season, first aid kits, jerseys for ride leaders., Ride Leader Certification and logistical support

We have an annual meeting (this year March 11) to hand out ride leader WMBC shirts, schedules, ride leader packets, first aid kits, go over details and logistics. Meeting will be held at 7:00 @ Twin Sisters Brewery in Bellingham
