HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Step

01

Fill out the WMBC Ride Leader Registration & Volunteer Waiver form below, letting us know you are interested in becoming a ride leader or assistant ride leader. We will send you the link to the class.

Become a WMBC individual or family member (if you aren’t already)

Register and pay for the Ride Leader Class.

Background Check through Bellingham Public Schools. (apparently this is an annual check). So unless you are a teacher or recently approved volunteer within BPS, please find the online waiver on the BPS website and  submit it ASAP to make sure you are cleared prior to spring rides.

Inform Char that you have completed the course with your mailing address so you can get reimbursed the $200 for the Ride Leader Course

At least one adult in each ride group needs to have their current basic 1st aid certificate (at a minimum). Red Cross offers many courses for this, or you can also find some mountain bike specific classes.

Each ride leader that signs up must be a WMBC member ($35/60). This fee covers insurance, first aid kits, jerseys, Ride Leader Certification and administrative /logistical support for your club

We do offer scholarships: please apply if you need any.
